FAQ

Common questions.

  • What is a credit, exactly?

One credit = 1,000 source characters at the English baseline. We compute the exact cost before charging, using language tier × OCR profile × optional human polish. You always see the number before you confirm.

  • What happens when I run out mid-job?

You're never blocked. We show a one-click overflow modal with the exact top-up needed, or an upgrade option. Subscribers get better pay-as-you-go rates.

  • How is this different from Google Translate or DeepL?

We're not competing on raw price. Traxlate is built for professional document workflows — legal filings, immigration packets, academic papers, books — where accuracy, layout fidelity, and faithful meaning matter more than per-character cost. Every sentence is measured against your source, so the plausible-sounding mistranslations that consumer translators ship don't reach you.

  • Is my data private?

Yes. Documents are encrypted in transit and at rest, GDPR-compliant end-to-end, never used to train any model, and never shared with third parties. Pro and Business plans support auto-deletion policies down to immediate deletion on completion.

  • Can I get a refund?

Yes — see our refund policy. Subscriptions can be cancelled any time; remaining credits stay yours until the period ends. Pay-as-you-go packs are refundable within 14 days if unused.

  • Do unused monthly credits roll over?

Pro rolls over up to 20% of its monthly allocation. Business rolls over 30%. Starter and Free plans don't roll over. Rollover credits count toward your balance but are used after your fresh monthly batch.

  • Is there an API?

Yes — included on Business and Enterprise plans: Bearer-key auth, the /api/v1/translate endpoint (sync for short text, async for long text and files), webhooks, and a /api/v1/usage endpoint. The full reference is at /docs/api.

  • Which languages are supported?

Over 200 language codes are accepted for translation. Tier A languages (English, Spanish, French, German, …) typically achieve the highest quality. Tier D covers many low-resource languages that most services don't support at all. Call GET /api/v1/languages for the full list.
