What Traxlate is

Traxlate translates text, documents, PDFs, subtitles and audio on your own device. You can also order a translation from a professional human linguist, which is a separate, paid service.

Free use

On-device translation is free and unmetered. We do not count your characters, your words or your documents. This is not a trial or a teaser: it runs on your hardware, so it costs us nothing to run.

An installed language pack keeps working regardless of any subscription. We will not switch off something already on your machine because you stopped paying.

The subscription

• $5.99 per month, charged until you cancel.
• One subscription covers one device. A second device needs its own subscription. We would rather say this here than surprise you at activation — it is enforced in software, not a policy we might waive.
• It adds end-to-end encrypted sync between your devices and the local API at full speed.
• It does not buy you the right to translate. Translation is free; the subscription funds the project and unlocks the extras above.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, and you keep what you paid for until the end of the period you already paid. After that the licensed extras stop.

Your device does not stop translating the moment a payment fails. There is a deliberate offline grace period, because a card expiring at the wrong moment should not strand you mid-document with no internet.

Your installed packs and your local data remain yours. They were never on our servers.

Human translation

Orders placed with professional linguists are quoted before you commit and paid separately from the subscription. The text you submit is sent to us and to the linguist doing the work — this is the one part of Traxlate that is not on-device, and the page says so before you order.

What we ask of you

• Do not use Traxlate to break the law, or to translate material you have no right to.
• Do not attempt to circumvent the device licensing, resell access, or extract the language packs for redistribution.
• Do not attack the service — no scraping at scale, no denial of service, no probing other people’s accounts.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

What we promise, and what we don’t

Machine translation is imperfect. Traxlate checks its own output before showing it to you, and tells you when it is unsure — but it can still be wrong, and it can be wrong in ways that read fluently.

Do not rely on machine translation alone for anything where being wrong is expensive — legal contracts, medical instructions, safety notices, regulatory filings. That is exactly what the human translation service is for.

We provide the service as-is. We cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted, or that a translation will be fit for a particular purpose.

Suspension

We may suspend an account that is attacking the service, defrauding payment, or being used for clearly illegal purposes. If we do, we will say why. We will not suspend you for translating something we disagree with — we cannot see what you translate, and we designed it that way on purpose.

Changes

If we change these terms materially, we will say so rather than silently editing the page. Price changes never apply to a period you have already paid for.
